Tamagotchi Connection / Plus
Released March 2004
The Tamagotchi Connection (known as Tamagotchi Connexion in Europe and Tamagotchi Plus in Japan) was the first in a line of updated devices that featured an infrared port that allowed two units to communicate so that the characters could interact with one another. The V1 can be identified by a lack of any sort of antenna, however it is physically indistiguishable from the V2 aside from shell coloration. A very general “quick reference” is that V2 shells almost always have some sort of design, so plainer shells are usually V1s.
